GF Biscuits and gravy

I love biscuits and gravy, but because of my wife's allergies to pork. I have created a unique recipe using hamburger which I season to taste like sausage.

I take 1 lb of lean hamburger and add salt and pepper, cinnamon, dried red pepper flakes, habanero sauce (or you can use Tabasco not as flavorful though as habanero sauce). Cook meat and seasonings till done and drain off all the fat and juices leaving only the meat.

To make the gravy.. melt 1/2 cube of butter in a large sauce pan add 1/4 cup gf flour mix and 1/4 cup potato starch, add 4 cups of milk. cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thick and creamy. Once the sauce has thickened add the cooked hamburger back and turn the heat down to simmer. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Spoon gravy over the top of the biscuits.

To make the gf drop biscuits:

Ingredients:
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter or butter spread.
3/4 cup 1% milk (cow's, rice or soy)
1 large egg, at room temperature
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup flour blend (to make the blend: 1 1/2 cups sorghum flour, 1 1/2 cups potato starch, 1 cup tapioca flour. Stir all ingredients together with a whisk. Store in a heavy-duty food-storage bag or a food-quality plastic container.)
3/4 cup cornstarch
2 teaspoons xanthan gum
1 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
oil or melted butter, for brushing tops after baking.

*if you want to make these biscuits to resemble the ones you get at Red Lobster add the following
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 3 tablespoons parsley, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. grease a 9 x 13 in baking sheet
In a food processor, blend butter, milk, and egg till combined. Add the sugar, flour blend, cornstarch, xanthan gum, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Blend into dough is very smooth (The dough will be very soft)
If you have a large spring action ice cream scoop dip it in water then scoop the dough, otherwise use a large tablespoon and drop batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until nicely browned and crisp to your liking. Remove the biscuits from oven , brush with butter or oil serve immediately.
